The Album "2020B" is the second album released by the Gdańsk-born and Leipzig-based artist Izabela Kałduńska, aka The New Solarism. The cycle "2020B - 4 Deconstructions after Beethoven's Second Symphony for Nine Soloists" was commissioned by Philharmonie Leipzig and composed by Izabela Kałduńska as a hommage to Ludwig van Beethoven to celebrate the Beethoven's Year 2020. The album is a live documentation of this work taken during its Premiere Performance in December 2020, in Kupfersaal, Leipzig. It is a combination of orchestral elements coming from Beethoven's legacy and new techniques of playing and controlled improvisation. Using traditional instruments combined with effect pedals and loops Izabela is deconstructing typical classical harmonies and melodies and looking closely upon the 'leftovers' of the 220 year old Symphony and also trying to capture Beethoven's feelings enclosed in his letter, the Heiligenstadt Testament, from 1802. The "2020B" will also soon be available on a limited series cassette.
